Workshop
- What is mentalisation?
- Could mentalisation-based therapy (MBT) help your
practice?
Mentalisation is a 'natural human ability' that we all do more
or less well. While all therapies promote mentalising,
mentalisation based therapy was devised in recognition of the
limitations of psychotherapy when working with the borderline
patient. The only specific aspect of MBT is making the enhancement
of mentalising itself the focus of treatment in the context of the
therapeutic relationship
This workshop will offer an opportunity to explore ways in which
psychotherapists use mentalisation all the time and will consider
ways of enhancing a mentalising stance.
All participants completing the workshop will receive a
Certificate of Attendance for their Continuing Professional
Development portfolio.
