Workshop
What makes us the group therapists we are? S.H. Foulkes
suggested that the personality of the group analyst/therapist is
perhaps the major influence on the development of the
group. This workshop explores the person of the group therapist,
the factors that lead us to work in groups, and the areas of growth
and conflict that have influenced our development.
Starting in the family group, consideration will be given to the
inter-personal relationships, group affiliation and authority
relations as some of the touch points of development. There will be
an exploration of the implications for present group therapy
practice, as welll as the sense of future possibilities.
Participants will be invited to contribute to an understanding of
these processes and to share their own experiences.
All participants completing the workshop will receive a
Certificate of Attendance for Continuing Professional Development
purposes.
