Pastoral Care covers the interface between religious
beliefs and care work and may involve wearing several different
hats. Counselling skills are a vital component of such work, which
may be voluntary or paid and include hospital and prison visits,
working with the bereaved as well as providing support and care.
People from many spiritual backgrounds are involved in such
work.
At WPF Therapy we recognise the importance of pastoral care. This
course will deal with issues arising in the field which may not be
fully explored and addressed on an Introduction to Counselling
& Psychotherapy course. It will explore the diverse roles in
pastoral care, roles that go beyond counsellor and client.
This year long, part-time course starts each October and takes
place on Friday mornings 9.30am -12.45pm
