Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) at WPF Therapy is a short-term therapy - between 6-12 weekly sessions - for those experiencing mild to moderate anxiety and depression. Each session lasts 50 minutes.
Working together with a CBT practitioner you will identify thinking patterns which may be contributing to emotional distress and troubling behaviour.
You are then helped to develop new ways of thinking which can have a positive effect on your mood and behaviour.
CBT has been found to be helpful for issues such as anxiety, depression, work or exam stress, health anxiety, lack of assertiveness, panic attacks, phobias and procrastination
For CBT to be successful you will need to be motivated to work with CBT, interested in finding 'tools' to correct ways of thinking and willing to do 'homework' - such as a thought diary - between sessions.
