Supervision of Frontline Staff
An estimated 1.2 million people believe they suffer from an
illness caused or made worse by work*
- Do your staff have to deal with difficult or challenging
behaviour?
- Do they need to process emotionally charged information?
Even highly qualified and experienced staff may be affected
psychologically by customers and clients who display difficult
behaviour and provide emotionally charged information. It is well
recognised that excessive or sustained work pressure like this can
lead to stress. Occupational stress poses a risk to most businesses
and compensation payments for stress are increasing. It is
important to meet the challenge by tackling the causes of workplace
stress. Stress is one of the major causes of absence from
work, and this increasing. The average length of time someone takes
off work with stress is 21 days, according to the CIPD**, at a
likely cost of over £2,000.
It is good practice to provide ongoing supervision for frontline
staff and their managers as these positions may be particularly
stressful. Regular supervision and debriefings can help reduce
stress, anxiety, depression and their consequences.
WPF Therapy contracts can be tailored to suit organisational
needs. Individual or group supervision and debriefing can be
provided weekly, fortnightly or at agreed intervals depending on
individual requirements.
