Commissioners

WPF Therapy is a significant provider of therapy and training.  Whilst the majority of our adult therapy clients self refer and pay towards the cost of their therapy, we also work with commissioners - in the public, private and voluntary sectors - tailoring services to meet their requirements. Currently, a significant proportion of our clients are recommended to us by GPs and we aim to develop stronger relationships with clinical commissioning groups as a qualified provider of psychological therapy.

We have worked over many years with local authorities and PCTs to provide group and individual therapy for carers, IAPT for people with anxiety and depression and group therapy for older people who are isolated. We have worked with churches - to offer therapy to people whose needs require more than pastoral support - and with private companies who refer staff to us as part of their employee assistance programme. Our contracts with universities enable students to begin their therapy without undue delay.

It is our mission to enable people to access affordable therapy, including providing specialist short-term and long-term therapy that is not available routinely through the NHS. We have a distinguished history of providing therapy for people with long term health conditions, serious illness and disability.

The majority of those who come to us for training have decided to pursue a career in psychotherapy and counselling or they are qualified therapists continuing their professional development. We also provide training for people who work with people, such as nurses, doctors, teachers, social workers and lawyers, for whom counselling skills will enhance their professional effectiveness. Our workshops for HR professionals and managers are aimed specifically at the management of stress and conflict in the workplace.

It is our intention to develop the work we do with commissioners of psychological therapy and training. We aim to become the provider of choice in London because we are:
