Our charitable work is directed toward making sure that everyone has access to someone to talk to, confidentially, in person and affordably. Therapy is ultimately the prevention and treatment of harsh emotions. We work to prevent despair, to help a person who feels lost feel like they have direction and someone who feels empty to find meaning in their life. We work with fear, self esteem, anger, distress, loss, bereavement and neglect. We work to replace these emotions with a sense of direction, clarity and control, and ultimately the peace of mind that so many people out there are searching for.
WPF Therapy runs specialist projects and workers to work with serious physical illness, to enable people who have just been told they are dying to be able to live, as well as Carers…the ones who care for people who are unwell or disabled. We work with young adults, to help them feel find peace and disable their anger, and people in debt with suicide prevention for those who feel like their whole world is over. Most recently, WPF Therapy have launched projects for ethnic minorities, to help them maintain their sense of self in an environment which threatens their peace. And always, we reach out to the neglected majority – those people out there who do not fall into a category – but generally fit in, go about their day, and silently carry the burden of stress and worry on their shoulders.
