Adopt a Project for Christmas

We are asking you to think of the people we see who are greatly in need of our support. Perhaps Christmas is a good time to think of others. So how about choosing one of our specialist projects and adopting it? We will send you information about the people we are helping (not identifying individuals of course).

50 Plus
Older people need support as they can often suffer from loneliness and isolation. They may have lost partners or jobs. Children, if they have any, may have moved away. Counselling can help them to discover new ways of finding fulfilment. Old conflicts can be resolved and depression can be lifted. A gift of £60 will provide one session for an older person who can contribute only £5 to his or her own therapy.
Way Ahead
Young people need help as they establish themselves in adult life. We see many young people and can enable them to feel confident enough not to need drugs or alcohol in excess or feel the need to use knives to show their power. We help students to stay on their courses and not drop out and we help others to stay in work or to feel able to find work for the first time. We can also help them to be able to form and maintain relationships.

Living With Illness
People may suddenly be told that they have a life threatening or incurable
condition and they must find a way to live with it. Close relatives, friends and work colleagues are all affected by the change that this diagnosis can bring. We use experience and expertise to help these people to make the best life for themselves that they can. Our emphasis is not on empty optimism; we
understand that people often need to be able to talk about their deepest fears for the future and the dread of death or of bereavement. Our therapists allow the unspeakable to be spoken and shared. Only after facing the truth can each person begin to find a way to look at the next day and the day after that with hope.

  • If you would like to be responsible for enabling us to offer an initial
consultation to one more person, send us £100.
  • If you would like to support one session for one of these projects send us £60.

If you are willing to do this, please send the form below to us at this address :
