New CBT service from wpf
Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) at wpf Counselling & Psychotherapy is a 6-8 week therapy for those experiencing mild to moderate anxiety and depression.
As a practical therapy CBT focuses on specific problems.
CBT has been found to be helpful for issues such as:
• Anxiety
• Depression
• Exams - studying
• Health anxiety
• Lack of assertiveness
• Panic attacks
• Phobias
• Procrastination
• Stress
• Work issues – e.g. role change, new job, redundancy, retirement,
promotion
For CBT to be successful you will need to be:
•
Motivated to work with CBT
• Interested in finding ‘tools’ to correct something
• Willing to do ‘homework’ – such as a thought diary, or practice new
skills - between sessions
