Short-term or time-limited psychodynamic counselling is a focussed therapy taking place over up to 12 sessions.
With your counsellor you will initially agree a specific goal to work towards with subsequent weekly one-to-one sessions each lasting for 50 minutes.
The sessions provide an opportunity to explore your problem in depth with the counsellor in a non-judgemental way, gain a better self-understanding and work to bring about a desired change.
Focussed therapy can be particularly helpful when experiencing problems such as:
Inability to manage under pressure
Relationship difficulties
Bullying and harassment
Poor performance at work
Traumatic incidents
Stress, anxiety and depression
Bereavement
Redundancy
