Project London Health launched a new seasonal health event that
was free to enter and designed to be completed within a one-hour
lunch break. The pulse-raising walk/run started at City Hall and
continued along the Thames, crossing the river twice, at Tower
Bridge and London Bridge, taking in inspiring city views.
The first event was also used to raise awareness of WPF Therapy
- and we were delighted to be the first local health charity
selected for this promotion.
Joan Baxter,
CEO, spoke at the launch about the links between physical and
mental health.
Did you know that:
- People who suffer depression are more likely to suffer heart
disease
- People who suffer chronic back pain can get better with
psychotherapy
- During physical exercise, the brain releases endorphins,
hormones which make people feel good
- When people exercise together in groups, the level of
endorphins produced is higher?
